Following their massively popular debut with Rain Room in 2015, Random International has returned to China, and to Shanghai’s Yuz Museum, with a full solo exhibition of video and interactive installations. The Sharjah Art Foundation and the UAE-based Space Continuum Design Studio in collaboration with Shape Architecture Practice + Research, Sharjah, combined to create this spectacle. Created by the London and Berlin-based Random International, the Rain Room is now permanently located in Sharjah. Rain Room creates falling rain, immersing the visitor in a sensory experience of sound and smell, but stopping the downpour as the visitor navigates through the space, leaving them dry.
